My first spinning project….

Tonight we built a little loom out of scrap wood and nails. We recycled some mate-less socks to make pot-holders. The boys are going to keep making more and give them as gifts. We came up with some ideas for some other colorful things to add to the mix. They are having a lot of fun with it.

I’ve been sorting through old photos for a project that I’m working on and I thought I would slowly start posting pictures of some of my work. I love looking at other people’s projects. I find it so inspiring. I want to share some of the things that I’ve created to keep the ideas flowing.

This was my first spinning project. I made two smallish skeins of bulky yarn. Then I designed this hat based on the yarn. I used a drop spindle and found it really soothing. Spinning had a meditation like quality to it.

That is a gorgeous hat! You should write down the patterns you make up, they are great!

Plus Galen is divine, what a model! He looks so much like you as I have seen you in photos!
