It’s been unseasonably cool this last week. I wore my new cowl, made a giant pot of chicken soup with lots of greens and garlic leaves from the garden and made angel baby a new bonnet.  I was cranky about the lack of muffin-like things in our current diet, until I found this recipe for Morning Glory Muffins and was somewhat appeased.

I’m working on the cowl pattern now.  I don’t like it when I design things that I then have to model.  It’s awkward.  Perhaps I should stick to writing children’s patterns?

I haven’t been doing much reading, just listlessly paging through random books from time to time, preferably the kind with pictures.

Oh, and I don’t think I ever posted a full length picture of Mairi Rose’s birthday dress, so there is one above.

That is a gorgeous blue on your biggest little girl. I’ve been knitting shawls and tunics in 100 degree heat, trying to imagine myself somewhere ‘unseasonably cool’. It’s this time of year that I miss New England the most.

The weather has shifted now. I miss the cool! The heat and I do not agree. I don’t think I could take going back to that kind of summer.

The birthday dress is gorgeous! I am sure it is adored ! Everything is SO green in your pics! I moved to Texas from the NE and miss the green so much……and the snow! The little green sweater on you baby, who has grown into such a cutie pie since my last blog-stop-in, is very pretty. What type of stitch is that?

The green sweater pattern is called MOMO. The yoke is a lace reminiscent of feather and fan.

I’m longing for New England green. So looking forward to going back this summer. I have always admired that blue knit stitch, and have even knit it! I don’t think I’ve ever finished a project with it though. I’m so bad when it comes to finishing knit sweaters!

Hey I was wondering if you could share your chicken soup recipe? It looks really yummy!
